NEW ZEALAND RED STAG WITH TAHR AND CHAMOIS #149
This outfitter was named the "Professional Hunter of the Year" by SCI! If you want some of the best guiding and hunting there is anywhere in the world - this is the hunt for you. He presently has 3 different ranches to hunt. The stag "roar" begins in late March and continues through early May. The package hunt is a 5 days for $4800.
Tahr and Chamois are hunted in the Southern alps. They rut in May, June and early July. They can be successfully hunted in April to August. On these hunts you'll fly by helicopter through the mountains in search of the desired game. Then you and your guide will be dropped within stalking distance and attempt to harvest the trophy on foot. Price for a combo hunt of tahr and chamois is $5995.
You can take all three: Stag, Tahr and Chamois for $9800.
There are daily direct flights that leave Los Angeles for Auckland, your point of entry to New Zealand. From there you will fly to Queenstown. There are touring options for nonhunters too.
